Go Run Limited (trading as Run Unlimited) is owned and operated by Seamus and Holly Kelleher, who are volunteers in the local athletics community and runners themselves.
Seamus is a retired rugby player (not pro – though he would have loved that!) who first took up running to be faster on the pitch. In 2009 when he stopped playing rugby he ramped up his running and found a love of fells and trails. Always a keen cyclist, after learning to swim in 2015 he took on Ironman Wales later the same year and now competes in long distance triathlons, though he is also partial to an occasional ultra and loves the local Cross Country scene. In his spare time (when he gets some) Seamus coaches athletics as an Coaching Assistant, and is Event Director of Prudhoe Riverside Junior parkrun.
Holly is the less athletic Kelleher but is an experienced run coach. Having taken up running in 2013 to avoid housework, injury helped her find a love of high vis and volunteering in the local athletics community. Holly established, and is President of Prudhoe Plodders Running Club, and is the Event Director and ‘establisher of’ Prudhoe Riverside parkrun. As a qualified Coach in Running Fitness, and Athletic Coach, and level 1 BTF Triathlon Coach, Holly has coached for athletes of all ages and abilities for several local clubs, winning; Sport Tynedale Sports Personality of the Year 2017, England Athletics Run Leader of the Year North East 2018 and a Certificate of Recognition the same year from our local MP for services to the local athletics community. She is also an Ironman – but obviously doesn’t like to talk about it 😉
Why open Run Unlimited?
Too often we see new athletes injured because they’ve made a purchase online, or have felt pressured into buying something in store, that wasn’t right for them because they didn’t know which questions to ask. Or we have seen even experienced athletes not achieve their race goals due to inadequate or incorrect kit or fuelling.
We offer specialised brands that we stand by as athletes. Brands which will improve your racing and training performance and as coaches we can tell you how to use these to be the best athlete you can be, regardless of your starting point.
In store Support – Gait Analysis
We can look at your old shoes, and ask you to perform some simple exercises to identify which type of shoe is the appropriate one for you. We can also watch you run in the field to the rear of the store (in your old shoes – obviously ) or on our treadmill and advise you on improvements to your technique of you feel you need this.
We think your shoes are a valuable investment, certainly running shoes are not inexpensive. We offer all customers the opportunity to run on our treadmill to check their shoes are comfortable before purchasing.
We are proud to support local athletics and help people develop their running as a lifestyle choice. For this reason all customers who are registered parkrunners or England Athletics members may use the code ‘EAPARK’ to claim 10% off any full price footwear purchase online and in store.
